Qualification training

Instructor training for the EIR cruise section

The aim of the course is to train the student to the level of proficiency required to operate an airplane in accordance with the IFR on the en-route portion of the flight.

The student must have a private pilot's PPL (A) or higher and at least 20 hours as PIC. The student must have at least a Medical Qualification Class of 2, accompanied by an IR examination.

The holder of an IR (EIR) shall be in possession of a valid English language proficiency endorsement, at least level 4.

The EIR (A) certification training course shall comprise a total of at least 80 hours (á 60 minutes). Theory training can also be conducted as distance theory. In this case, distance theory is 90 hours (English) and proximity theory 9 hours.

At least 15 hours of flight training on an EIR course.

CB-IR (A) Qualified Flight Training

The aim of the course is to train the student to the level of proficiency required to fly an airplane under IFR.

The student must have a Private Pilot PPL (A) or higher, and a minimum of 50 hours on the Passenger Pilot (PIC) certification. The student must have at least a Medical Qualification Class of 2, accompanied by an IR examination.

In addition, the holder of an IR shall have a valid English language proficiency endorsement, at least level 4, associated with the radio operator certificate.

The theoretical knowledge instruction in the CB-IR (A) certification course shall be a total of at least 80 hours (á 60 min). In this case, distance theory is 90 hours (English) and proximity theory 9 hours.

Flight training in CB-IR (A) is at least 40 hours.

Flight Training for IR (A)

The aim of the course is to train the student to the level of proficiency required to fly an airplane under IFR.

The student must have a Private Pilot PPL (A) or higher, and a minimum of 50 hours on the Passenger Pilot (PIC) certification. The student must have at least a Medical Qualification Class of 2, accompanied by an IR examination.

In addition, the holder of an IR shall have a valid English language proficiency endorsement, at least level 4, associated with the radio operator certificate.

Theoretical knowledge training for the IR (A) certification course shall be a total of at least 150 hours (á 60 min).

A minimum of 50 hours of flight instruction on an IR (A) course.

PBN training

Instrument pilots flying PBN methods must have PBN requirements and have a new form of PBN IR marking on their license or other equivalent document (eg, operator-maintained records). All IR holders, whether flying PBN methods or not, must be qualified and have a PBN IR mark by August 25, 2020. Therefore, the current IR certification is not licensed after August 25, 2020 without the PBN IR designation.

PBN is included in all Lentokoulu Pirkanmaaa instrument flight training, but it can also be taken as a separate training.

Other certification trainings

If the privileges of an airplane, TMG, LAPL or PPL are exercised under VFR conditions at night, the license holder shall complete the night rating.

Admission requirements are PPL (A) or higher, at least 70 hours as PIC (Passenger Flight)

The program is tailored to the individual, based on which experience they lack, and Traficom guidelines.

Osallistuakseen ensimmäiselle usean ohjaajan ilma-aluksen tyyppikurssille CPL(A)-lupakirjan haltijan tulee olla suorittanut Advanced UPRT-kurssi. Tämä epätavallisten lentoasentojen välttämisen ja niistä oikaisu -kurssi suoritetaan SEP-luokan ilma-aluksella. Kurssi sisältää viisi tuntia teoriaa ja kolme tuntia lentokoulutusta.
